Fostering an Innovation Mindset

Monday, 23 July 2018 - 9:00am to 11:00am

Innovation and change are essential ingredients for an organisation to stay contemporary.  This is true on a personal level for our own career, and for fostering resilient teams who can respond to the fast-paced needs of the world in which we operate.

Join Abby Rees, Director of PunkPD and a Behaviour and Change Specialist in an interactive workshop which marries practical tools with contemporary theory.  Abby will explore the mechanisms that can limit our capacity to innovate with confidence.  She provides practical ways to overcome these barriers as we move into the future.

 This leadership workshop includes:

  • Leading effectively in a complex environment
  • Recognising and overcoming social and neurological pulls for 'the known'
  • Understanding and identifying cultural barriers and the reasons why these exist
  • Practical tools for embracing complexity, risk and innovation

Abby Rees is a self-confessed ‘education junkie’; University Lecturer; Education and Empowerment Writer; Behaviour, Change and Emotional Intelligence Specialist; Executive Meta-Coach; and artistic thinker.  She is regularly invited to speak at events and last year these included several events for the Institute of Management and Leadership (Formerly AIM), a breakfast series for the Canberra Business Chamber, and addresses for The Future of Work Conference and the National Public Sector Conference.
