Innovation Month 2016 - Disrupt, Develop, Display

Now in its fourth year Innovation Month continues to showcase and discuss innovation in the Australian Pubic Service (APS). Innovation Month 2016 will run from 4-31 July and is about action.  It’s about mobilising the public service to be an exemplar for innovation by becoming 'more innovative in how we deliver services.’ The theme for Innovation Month 2016 is Disrupt • Develop • Display.

How can you get involved?

Innovation Month 2016 is a collective effort, led by public sector agencies and innovation leaders both inside and outside the APS.

If you’ve not already, register to become a member of the Public Sector Innovation Network (PSIN) to receive our weekly newsletter. If you’re interested in becoming more active, contact the PSIN team (psi [at] industry.gov.au) and we will connect you with a local PSIN group. Being part of a PSIN group means you will receive more information, the behind the scene updates on Innovation Month developments and other news from the public sector innovation advocates.

If you wish to update your PSIN membership details, visit the Subscribe to the Public Sector Newsletter page, enter your details and you will be sent an email to update your account.

If you’re an Australian government employee you can also join the discussion about Innovation Month and other developments on the PSIN Yammer Group.

You can help to make Innovation Month 2016 successful by;

  • Organising an event – on your own or with your colleagues. If you would like to run an event but want some assistance, you can look at our ‘how-to-guide’ to event management which offers guidance on helping you prepare your own event. If you would like to organise an event but need some ideas about different types of events, you might get inspiration by the list of events from Innovation Month 2015

  • Registering your event! If you would like register your event with us for listing on this page, you can complete the event registration form (.xlsx 131Kb) and email it to us (psi [at] industry.gov.au), preferably before 22 June 2016. (Even if your event is only for people within your agency, it would be great to include it in the list to let other people know what’s happening during the month.)

  • Helping organise Innovation Month! Please email the PSIN team (psi [at] industry.gov.au) if you would like to help organising Innovation Month.

  • Attending an event! Have a look at the list of events and see what appeals - please note events are being added as they are finalised.
