A definition of some of the innovation terms that you may come across in the Toolkit.

• APS 200 - the 200 most senior public servants of the Australian Public Service, including the Secretaries Board (the heads of all Portfolio Departments), Senior Executive Service Band 3 members, and selected agency heads. It is the senior leadership forum for the Australian Public Service
• Ideation – the process of creating or generating ideas
• Ideas Management System (IMS) – a formal process by which ideas can be recorded, filtered and selected for implementation
• Mechanism of Challenge – a process by which issues or problems within an organisation can be identified and challenged
