My colleague Alex Roberts has written about the launch of the Public Sector Innovation Toolkit. In this post I want to take a closer look at one specific element of the Toolkit – the diagnostic tool.
To assist practitioners with identifying strengths and weaknesses in the innovation process in their workplace, the Innovation Toolkit features a simple interactive Diagnostic Tool.
The Diagnostic will help practitioners to identify strengths and weaknesses in their own contexts, and it will provide materials and case studies to assist them in applying innovative solutions. You can use the diagnostic in the context of your immediate work team, your larger workplace or even your whole organisation depending on the context of your work.
The diagnostic takes you through 25 questions relating to the innovation process and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey the diagnostic will produce a summary report on the areas of innovation identified as being strong, good or could use improvement and it will suggest some tools practitioners could implement to improve that area of the innovation process.
We invite everyone to use the diagnostic tool and share their thoughts on the tool.
